Vrindavan 2016.06.27 (VT): Acharya Mridul Kant Shastri will be meeting Foreign Minister Ms. Sushma Swaraj today to discuss the brutality towards Indian devotees in Nepal. Indian devotees returning from Kailash Mansarovar were beaten by batons in Nepal on June 16. The Bhagwat speaker was also insulted by the Nepal police.
A group of 37 devotees from Mathura, Agra and Kanpur were on their way from Kailash Mansarovar to Vrindavan under the guidance of Acharya Mridul Kant Shastri. But the Nepali Gomma Airlines plane landed at Surkhet airport instead of Nepalganj airport, as per the original itinerary for which the pilgrims had already paid. When they asked to be taken to the other airport, the airlines asked for an extra 8,000 rupees per person.
At this, the pilgrims protested. The airline officials called the police who started to beat the pilgrims with batons, injuring them all, some seriously. They also showed disrespect to the group leader Mridul Kant Shastri. The Nepal police even abused India and threw all the pilgrims out of the airport, due to which the devotees were bound to continue their journey by bus.
A group of saints from Vrindavan will be in Delhi today to discuss this issue in details with the Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. The group will be led by Acharyaji and will have Mahant Phooldol Biharidas, Mahamandaleshwar Navalgiri Maharaj, Swami Ramdevanand Saraswati, Acharya Badrish, Ex-State Minister Ravikant Garg and leaders of the Vrindavan Businessmen Association, Mr. Lalit Arora and Mr. Mohan Soni.
