Vrindavan, 2011.10.15 (HT): The alumni association of Vidya Bharati planted trees at the Saraswati Vidya Mandir (school) in Keshav Dham in the presence of sants and sadhus. Both the leaders of the former students’ group and the sants expressed anxiety over the degradation of the environment everywhere in the world.
On Friday morning, renowned preacher of the Bhagavad Gita, Jnanananda Maharaj Ji, said, “Vrinda’s forest is no longer a forest. It is being turned into a concrete jungle at a very rapid pace. Those who come from outside the town with an image in their mind of what it is like are quickly disappointed. In the end, this means that less people will come here and that will have economic repercussions. But worse, the effects on the spiritual culture in Vrindavan will be affected.”
Student Rishi Sharma spoke on the importance of environment protection, saying, “The only way to counteract the ever-increasing pollution of the air is by planting more and more trees.
