Vrindavan, 2017.08.16 (VT) Shi Radharaman Lal was looking absolutely gorgeous on Nandotsav morning in his golden orange new outfit with its fluffy, diaphanous yellow trim.
The Goswamis in seva began to peek out from the altar, in delighted anticipation of what would happen next.
Suddenly coins began to rain down from above, causing quite a stir in the crowd. Other Goswamis were throwing them from the balcony into the temple courtyard.
Then the ante got upped to 10 rupee notes!
Then a few 100s!
And then… uh oh!
Dairy products thinned with sweetened, fragrant water were blissfully tossed on the crowd in a traditional celebration known in Sanskrit as dadhi-kada. Those who pined for Holi felt soothed as they were pummeled and soaked in the rambunctiously joyful mess. And still the coins, candy, trinkets, fruits and sometimes rupee notes kept raining down!
The less adventurous hid in the archways while the courageous just went for it!
The struggle was real!
Some preferred to petition the birthday Boy for gifts in the form of prasad. He did not disappoint!
But what is this on the altar? I guess we will find out soon enough!
Please Gosainji, toss some of those little toys to me!
Pretty please? :/
And now the real prasad distribution starts… from Radharamanji’s side.
And we drown in His blessings.
This man got carried away in the flood of love and started to sing… Radhe Radhe!!
The singers too were not deprived of the fun!
And Ksheer Sagar formed in the corners of the temple courtyard!
Everyone was drenched in bliss!
