On the Parikrama Marg, after the Bhaktivedanta Hospice, one arrives at Varaha Ghat. There is a Ramanandi Ashram here that is over a century old, dedicated to Adi Varaha Narayan. Recently that ashram has been constructing a new temple and other buildings to house its devotees.
They just held a seven day event from Feb. 10-16 and I went in to have a look around. The program included a seven-day fire sacrifice and Bhakta Mal recital and discourses by Rajendra Dasji, Muluk Peeth Adhishwar, also a leading figure in the Ramanandi world.
It was interesting to observe that the event was almost totally dominated by the presence of sadhus and there were very few householders or women on the ashram grounds.
