Govardhan 2016.08.08 (VT): An unknown call at the Police control room at Govardhan caused commotion for hours. The caller called on the Police helpline number, i.e. 100, yesterday evening at around 5 pm and reported that he had placed a bomb near the Govardhan Parikrama Marg. He also challenged the Police to catch him.
The caller didn’t tell his name and said that the bomb is going to explode soon. Police department acted swiftly on the information as the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Dog Squad reached the Parikrama Marg in few minutes to check every possible place for deploying a bomb.
SSP Babloo Kumar ordered his squads to check the bus stand, railway station, important areas and every market to check for the bomb but they found nothing.
Police also checked some people on suspicion but found no trace of any bomb, proving that the information was nothing but a hoax. The inspection ran for hours which also troubled the devotees doing Govardhan parikrama.
Mathura Police are now putting their efforts to catch the caller who instigated the hoax. The Intelligence Bureau and Crime Branch have also been informed so that they can act accordingly. SSP Babloo Kumar said that Mathura Police are working hard to keep the Mathura jurisdiction areas safe and secure, especially as the festive season is approaching Braj.
