Vrindavan, 2015.12.19 (VT) Inspired by Sadhvi Ritambhara’s teachings that mothers must not just be mentally healthy but physically healthy as well, Samvid Gurukula at the Vatsalya Gram organized a marathon to raise awareness on this vital issue, along with urging people to denounce meat and liquor. The event held on 20th December represented by the students from various parts of the state participating in the campaign.
The District Athletics Association head Harimohan Ravat said this race, besides raising awareness, was a championship that has showcased hidden talent which will help the best get selected for the national marathon to be held in Pune in January. Participants of varying age categories ran in the race varying distances. To comfort the participants who faced the chill winter breeze, bonfires were lit and tents were erected. Several volunteers were also available for help in emergencies.
