Goverdhan / Vrindavan, July 10, 2015: The Van Mahotsava was celebrated in Goverdhan and Vrindavan. In Goverdhan, the plantation drive began with planting three hundred Tulsi saplings on the foot hills of the Girraj ji. The Tulsi saplings were planted by the officials of the District Administration in the Kasni Kund area. The officers said the pollution could only be checked by the massive tree plantation.
The District Judge Shri Dinesh Kumar, District Magistrate Shri Rajesh Kumar, MVDA Vice Chairman Nagendra Pratap, A.D.M (F&R) Jai Shankar Mishra, District Forest Officer Shri N.K. Janu, SDM Rajesh Singh, CJM Anil Kumar Yadav etc planted the Tulsi saplings to celebrate the Van Mahotsava.
The officials said that the devotees have huge faith in Goverdhan. They forget about all their worries just having the darshan of the Girraj. The whole of the Goverdhan foothill should be covered with the Tulsi plants, so that the devotees are mesmerized by the fragrance of the Tulsi. Many saints, government servants and the residents participated in the plantation drive. The District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said five lakh trees will be planted in the District in this year.
The Van Mahotsava was also celebrated in Vrindavan at the Tehra Van. The U.P. Forestry department invited Friends of Vrindavan, Director Jagannath Poddar to begin the plantation drive. Several hundred trees were planted in the Tehra and Sunrakh forest also. The members of the Braj Vrindavan Heritage Alliance also participated in the plantation drive in Vrindavan. The Range Officer M.K. Meena, Deputy Ranger Biri Singh Yadav, Subhash Singh, Madhumangal Shukla, Dhananjay Gautam, Ajay Das were also present during the plantation drive in Vrindavan.
